Several Liberal High School classes have plans for reunions during this Homecoming weekend, and a later weekend this month. Here are contacts and information on those reunions that have contacted the Leader & Times:

The Liberal High School Class of 1983 will host its 30th class reunion Oct.18 – 19 in Liberal. The cost is $35 per person.

Friday, Oct. 18 – 5 p.m. – tailgate starts at the old Mouser Skating Rink parking lot for food and drinks. We will attend the football game and then gather back at the tailgate spot after the game.

Saturday, Oct. 19 – 10 a.m. – golf outing, Willow Tree; 6:30 p.m. Social gathering at the Salty Dog Restaurant, casual for food and drinks.

Football game tonight: an area will be marked off for everyone to sit together.

Following the game: around 9 p.m., we’ll be meeting up for food and drinks at The Salty Dog. We’d like to welcome other classes to join in the fun with us.

Saturday: a come and go brunch will be held at Spencer Browne’s coffee house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Liberal High School Class of 1973 is having its 40th reunion this weekend. Recommended donations are $20 per person.

Reunion registration will start at 1 p.m. today at Billy’s Blue Duck BBQ. Class members will be at the homecoming parade at 2 p.m. and at the homecoming football game at 7 p.m.

Saturday, class members will be on their own for activities, including golf, the Mid-America Air Museum, Dorothy’s House and the Pancake Hall of Fame.

There will be evening activities at El Rancho Exotica with a tour of the zoo from 5:30 to 7 p.m. From 6 to 9 p.m., a social with light hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic drinks provided will take place. Alcohol is allowed, but must be provided by guests themselves.

The weekend will end with goodbyes starting at 9 a.m. Sunday with coffee, juice and doughnuts at Greg and Alica Bird’s country home.

Reunion plans for the Liberal High School classes of 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1954 have been scheduled for today and Saturday – along with the LHS Redskins Homecoming.

All of the reunion activities will take place at Mahuron Park in the Community Building with the exception of the parade and football game.

Registration for today’s and Saturday’s events began at 10 a.m. today. Snacks will be available as well as coffee, tea and water. During the parade, the building will be closed so all who wish may be along the parade route.

Prior to the football game tonight, a light supper will be provided. Those not wishing to attend the game may remain at the building for visiting and “catch up.” Following the game, anyone wishing to have more visiting time may return to the Mahuron Park Community Building.

Saturday morning, registration will begin again at 10 a.m. Reunion packets will be handed out and name tags provided.

A special luncheon is planned for the Class of ‘53 at noon to celebrate its “60” year. For information about this event, please contact Naomi Plett, 624-4536.

Also, the Class of ‘54 will have a brunch at the home of Donna Nix Sunday morning. Information regarding that event may be obtained by calling 624-2372.

Saturday evening, class pictures will be taken at 5:30 p.m. prior to the evening meal and program. The reunion activities will conclude at 10 p.m. at the Community Building.
