Doris P. Nicholson, 85, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.

She was born July 6, 1924, to Merle L. and Dorothy Dudley Cole in Liberal.

She married Alva R. Nicholson April 23, 1956, in Springfield, Ill. He died Sept.15, 2003.

She graduated Liberal High School.

She was a cook at Red Dome in Springfield, Ill. She  operated Stephen Dairy Store in Liberal for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Tatum and wife, Janet,                     Camp Point, Ill., Rodney Nicholson and wife, Shelly, Branson, Mo., and Robert Nicholson and wife, Penny, Duncan, Okla.; one daughter, Linda Tatum, Raleigh, N.C.;   one stepson, David Nicholson, Fort Worth, Texas; one stepdaughter, Sandra Boker and husband, Harold, Pekin, Ill.; one sister, Freda Taylor, Liberal; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her  parents and two brothers.
