LOUISE C. SCHMIDT

MONTEZUMA – Louise C. Schmidt, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.

She was born Aug. 18, 1925, to Lawrence and O’Neal (Friday) Joyner in Chestnut, La.

She married Olen Lavern Schmidt Dec. 25, 1953, in DeRidder, La. He died May 4, 2002.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite of Montezuma.

Survivors include three daughters, Lola M. Koehn and husband, Kyle, Montezuma, Marliese Y. Schmidt and husband, Raulin, Meade, and Rosalita A. Schmidt, Dodge City; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Joyner and Billy Joyner.

o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Montezuma Mennonite Church with ministers Donald Koehn, Charles Schmidt and Kalvin Salsbury presiding.

Burial will be at the North Mennonite Church Cemetery in Montezuma.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Montezuma Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie and may be mailed to Montezuma Funeral Home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
