MONTEZUMA – Deane Nance, 78, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at his home in Montezuma.
He was born to Harry K. and Radna B. (Dodson) Nance in Montezuma.
He married Lavon M. Rapier May 26, 1956, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He graduated from Leoti High School.
He was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montezuma.
He was a member of the Ensign Masonic Lodge No. 413, Wichita Scottish Rites and Wichita Shriners, Antique Motorcycle Club of American, Coronado Car Club of Dodge City, Kansas Flying Farmers, CVA National Car Club, Flying EEZ and a former member of the Montezuma School Board.
He enjoyed antique motorcycles, cars and tractors.
Other survivors include one son, Kyle Nance, Montezuma; two daughters, Jan Nance, Hutchinson, and Jodi and Todd Holmes, Montezuma; one grandson, Grant Holmes, Montezuma; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
o Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Evans Cemetery in Montezuma with the Rev. Jerry Odle presiding.
Friends may sign the register until 8 p.m. today at Montezuma Funeral Home.
