The Southwest Aquatics Team has been showing steady improvement over the past few swimming seasons, and with increased participation and more experience the team has been increasing its position at area swim meets.
Saturday, the Piranhas were able to host their own meet at Adventure Bay Family Water Park, the second tournament to take place at Liberal’s premier water attraction.
Swimming has continued to increase in popularity in recent years with Liberal High School starting its first girls swimming team in the past three years. For kids in the summer, the SWAT program has been a competitive alternative.
Liberal hosted several similar team from communities across the state and region Saturday, an economic advantage of having the water park.
