L&T staff report
BEAVER, Okla. — The Beaver Dusters couldn’t overcome errors in game one of Monday’s double header against the Shattuck Indians, falling, 12-0. But the Dusters came back with a more solid performance in game two before succumbing 9-5.
Now 0-3, the Dusters have a week off before entertaining Laverne on March 22.
“Errors. Tons of them,” Beaver head coach Casey Jones said of game one. “Giving up too many runs, walking too many and too many wild pitches.”
Beaver had three base runners, those coming on a hit and two walks.
The Dusters settled down and didn’t give up as many walks in the second game defeat.
“We put the bat on the ball a few times,” Jones said.
Cody Sutton had a double and Tyler Hessman knocked him in, then Michael Mathis knocked in Hessman for Beaver’s highlight of the game.
Cash Pool has been playing well behind the plate and had been the RBI leader until Monday.
“He struggled at the bat a little bit (Monday),” Jones said. “But defensively he does a pretty good job behind the plate.”
