KISMET — The Southwestern Heights Mustangs put on a good show for the first quarter of Tuesday’s game against Meade. But the Buffaloes are ranked No. 9 in Class 2A for a reason, and used their speed and height in the post to down the Mustangs 80-53.
Southwestern Heights (4-12) led 2-0 on a basket by Clayton Chase, but Meade pulled out to an 11-5 lead behind Colton Little and Kellan Hernandez.

Meade made its move in the second quarter, outscoring SWH 20-12 to take a 40-26 lead at the half.
Southwestern Heights cut it to 10 points early in the fourth on a pair of threes by Johnsrud and Jr. Herrera, but Meade went on a 27-12 run in the fourth.
Johnsrud led Heights with 17 points and Herrera 13.
Hernandez led Meade with 27 points, Randy Friesen 15 and Gunner Cordes 14.
