ULYSSES – Francis A. “Red” Ferron, 82, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.

He was born June 13, 1926, to Mitchell Anthony and Lora Lee Ferron.

He graduated from high school in Concordia.

He served in the United States Army for six years. He owned and operated a roofing company in Satanta for 30 years.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He enjoyed a good sparing match and reading western novels.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Phillip, Joan, Jane, Charles and Marilea.

o Memorial mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Western Prairie Care Home Chapel in Ulysses with the Rev. Mike Helms presiding.

Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Ulysses Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Francis Ferron memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
