ULYSSES – Bob Martin, 55, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born May 17, 1955, to Ronald and Wilma (Burch) Martin in Tribune.
He attended school in Tribune until the sixth grade. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1973. He studied diesel mechanics at Southwest Kansas Technical School in Liberal and auto body and paint at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland.
He worked for Kansas Department of Transportation for 19 years as their head mechanic.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars.
Survivors include his parents; two daughters, Jill Martin and Joell Martin, both of Ulysses; three brothers, Frank Martin, Holcomb, Larry Martin, Hugoton, and Dennis Martin, Ulysses; grandmother, Bessie Burch, Leoti; granddaughter, Aaliyah Urias, Ulysses; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Martin.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Oasis Assembly of God Church in Ulysses with Pastor Mike Holman presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
