
Janice Carroll McBee, 71, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal. Janice was born Feb. 2, 1945 in Tyrone, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ross and Mildred Booth Grice. She attended school in Tyrone and graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1963. On June 1 1963 in Tyrone, she was married to J. K. McBee. In 1966, she moved to Hooker, Oklahoma, where she lived the rest of her life. She worked at the meat department at BP& H Food Store, worked with the Hooker Schools, and was the First Baptist Church secretary until she started working for Thurman Wilson Insurance Agency in Hooker from 1984 to the present. She bought Thurman Wilson Insurance Agency in 1991. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker, and was a part of the Main Street Program during the renovation of Hooker’s Main Street. Her main happiness was following her grandchildren in all of their activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Mildred Grice; and infant brother, Bobby Ross Grice. Family members are her two sons, Johnny and Terri McBee, Guymon, Oklahoma, and Rowdy and Kelly McBee, Hooker, Oklahoma; brothers, Larry and Ellen Grice, Goodwell, Oklahoma, and Gary and Margaret Grice, Elkhart; six grandchildren: Taylor, Tanner, Devin, Cole and Karli Roark, Rachelle and Michael Trimble, April Madrid; and seven great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Tatum, Korbin, Kale, Kade, Paisley and Jeyton. • Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Pastor Mike McReynolds presiding. Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
