Car enthusiasts will be pouring into Hooker, Okla., Saturday for the annual Hooker Car Show in downtown. For those wanting to show their vehicles and be eligible for prize money, Thursday is the last day for the early bird entry fee of $20 per vehicle. After Thursday, the fee goes to $30 up to Saturday. The entry fee includes one meal, T-shirt, drawing eligibility and dash plaque.
This year, $10,000 in cash and prizes will be given away, with  a $100 drawing every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m.
There will be two $500 grand prize drawings for entrants (Sponsored by Hooker Soda Fountain & Grill), as well as numerous other prizes throughout the day.
Plaques will be awarded to the top 20 cars and top five motorcycles. Awards will also go to Best of Show in car and Best in Show in Motorcycle. Also, there will be a Mayor’s choice, Dealer’s choice (with $100) and People’s Choice.

• $1 Chances for a $500 drawing and vote for People’s Choice
• Merchant drawings
• Food court
• Swap meet
• Poker walk ($5 entry)
Another event that will take place is the 2010 Hooker Car Show annual Benefit Cook Off sponsored by the Flatlanders Car Club and Seaboard Foods. The cook off will have three divisions with funds going to the medical expenses accrued the last two years by Donna Ray, who has had multiple surgeries on her arm and leg due to falls.
• There will be a two-meat, two-person Team Barbecue Competition with the choise of two meats (ribs, brisket, pulled pork or sausage). The entry fee for team barbecue is $30 per team.
• There will be an Open Division where any main dish prepared on a grille, smoker or other outdoor cooker.
• The last competition will be a Dessert Contest, with desserts prepared indoors or outdoors ($10 entry fee).
The cook off will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, and there will be onsite electricty and be conducted at the Hooker NAPA store at 113 W. Glaydas.
All meat, open dishes and desserts will be turned in at 4:30 p.m. and served as part of the meal for the benefit.
