TURPIN, Okla. – Christopher Robert “Chris” Swartz, 30, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, in Seward County as a result of an auto accident.

He was born July 11, 1980, in Liberal.

He married Ashlee Schmitzer Aug. 9, 2008, in Liberal. She survives.

He was a pipeline construction worker for Meco Field Service.

He was a 1998 graduate of Turpin High School graduating in the top 10 of his class and received academic scholarships. He was on the 1995 and 1997 state winning football team and the state winning golf team in 1998.

He enjoyed golf, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family.

Other survivors include his grandmother, Dolores Swartz, Wessington, S.D.; his grandparents,  Jerry and Irene Steele,   Sterling; his parents, Robert and Kathy Swartz, Turpin; one son, Quinton Swartz, Liberal; two daughters, Genevieve Swartz, Liberal, and Izabella Swartz, Liberal; one brother, Brandon Kissick, Miller, S.D.; two sisters, Mikayla Davis, Miller, and Shaney Davis, Miller; and godparents, Mark and Carolyn Stergionis.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Swartz, and one son, Christopher Swartz.

o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Faith Church with Pastor Dee Estes presiding.

Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the Swartz Children Education Fund in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
