S. EDMUND WRIGHT
SATANTA – S. Edmund Wright, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit.
He was born April 9, 1915, to John Byron and Laura Amanda (Anderson) Wright in Palestine, Texas.
He married Laura Pearl (Derby) Buffington Sept. 4, 1937, in Sharon. She died Nov. 16, 1985.
He enjoyed traveling to Navajo Indian reservations, farming and horses, framing pictures and matting.
Survivors include one son, John Wright and wife, Terri, McLouth; two daughters, Sylvia Garner and husband, Bill, Red Springs, N.C., and Crystal Aubrey and husband, Carl Lee, Raytown, Mo.; one brother, Robert Wright and wife, Doris Jean, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Phinola Schmidt, Satanta; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dale Buffington; two daughters, Shirley Wright and Carolyn Pickens; one sister, Maude Anthony; one granddaughter, Cathy Louise Aubrey; one son-in-law, Howard Pickens; and one daughter-in-law, Doris Buffington.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene in Sublette with Dr. Bill Thomas and Minister Lloyd Bowen presiding.
Burial will be at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
