The inconsistent play for the Bee Jays continued Thursday night at Brent Gould Field.
After an emotional 12th inning win over Hays Wednesday, the Bee Jays fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first and never caught the last-place Dodge City A’s in an 11-4 loss.
The Bee Jays continued to give up big innings. Twice the A’s scored three runs and four in another.
Many of those runs came from Bee Jay mistakes. Liberal committed five errors in the loss.
Mike Rampone and Alec Isaac each hit home runs for the Bee Jays, but the 11 runs were too much to overcome.
The Bee Jays have allowed double digit runs in six of the last seven games.
The road won’t get any easier.
Liberal travels to Wellington today to begin a three-game series against the undefeated Heat.
Liberal trails the Heat by seven games.
After facing the Heat, the Bee Jays will return to Dodge City for a single game and then start a three game homestand against Derby June 27, 28 and 29. Liberal dropped all three games at Derby earlier this summer.
The games against Wellington will be broadcast live on 1270 AM. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
