Ruby Lee (Mires) Sherrill, 92, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born May 3, 1922, to William Thomas and Fanny Mae (Rudolph) Mires in Baxter, Tenn.
She married Harvey Sherrill on May 13, 1944, in Guymon, Okla. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from high school in Adams, Okla.
She worked as a hostess at the Liberal Inn's Branding Iron restaurant.
She was a member of the Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Sherrill and wife, Rose, Derby, Alvin Sherrill and wife, Doris, Ranchester, Wyo. and Don Sherrill and wife, Tonjua, Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Charles Mires, Baxter, Tenn.; sister, Jane Boyd, Cooksville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Leslie Patrick, Angelia Sherrill, Jennifer N'tsouglo, Brian Sherrill, Wendy Sherrill, Anthony Sherrill, Kelly Sherrill and Rhianna Sherrill; great-grandchildren, Gage Patrick, Peyton Patrick, Carter Graham, Lucus Graham, Javanta Sherrill, Zoey Sherrill, Brayden Sherrill, Matthew Sherrill, Jackson Sherrill and Danell N'tsouglo; and great-great-grandson, Carter Reeves.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Roger Sherrill; grandson, Dale Mullett; and granddaughter, Brandy Sherrill.
• Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, with David Rine presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present to greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Brenneman Funeral Home.
