Connie Seigrist, along with three local elected leaders, showed her support for the Liberal Senior Center’s March for Meals recently.

Seigrist helped unload the food that came from the Liberal Good Samaritan Center for the program. She also helped put the food in ice chests after individual meals were sealed for homebound delivery.

“Connie thought it was very interesting the way the meals were prepared and packaged,” said Meals program manager Vicki Haverfield.

Seigrist is a very busy person, teaching high school in the morning and working at her real estate office in the afternoon. She is also a member of the Seward County Council on Aging board.

Thursday, Liberal city commissioner Joe Denoyer, Seward County Commission Chairman Ada Linenbroker and state representative Reid Petty showed their support for March for Meals as well.

While it is traditional for seniors to go through a serving line for the senior center’s friendship meal, the trio took serving to another level as they personally delivered trays to each of those in attendance for Thursday’s meal.

Haverfield said she was very glad Seigrist, Denoyer, Linenbroker and Petty all took the time to promote March for Meals.
