The Liberal City Commission will be discussing several items at its rescheduled meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The first item on the agenda will concern the city renewing its insurance program with Al Shank Insurance.
Next on the agenda will concern revising part of the city’s six points project, where city staff will ask the commission’s direction on the project.
A couple of acquisitions will also be discussed – one will be the purchase of a sprayer and spreader for the cemetery and a new riding mower for the Liberal Fire Department.
The demolition of a hazardous residence at 310 S. Washington will also be discussed. According to the agenda minutes, this residence has no permits pulled for work done and the house is considered beyond repair and unsecure.
The sale of lots in Liberal Industrial Park is also up for discussion. The agenda minutes say that Wilson Trailer Company of Sioux City, Iowa, had approached the city regarding the purchase of 12.9 acres in the park for $100,000.
There will also be a new appointment to the Liberal Housing Authority Board after the resignation of Steve Sitz, who had completed eight years on the board.
The last items on the agenda will be the city manager’s report, items from commissioners and vouchers.
There will also be a 20-minute executive session at the end per K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(2) concerning consultation with the city attorney which would be considered privileged under the attorney-client relationship.
