KENNETH MCCURRY

ROLLA – Kenneth McCurry, 67, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his home in rural Morton County.

He was born May 12, 1946 to Jesse Edward and Rosie (Smith) McCurry in Canon City, Colo.

He married Shirley K. Chapman in 1966 in Liberal.

They moved to Wichita, Kansas where he was a welder for Koch Engineering for 13 years.

After moving back to Rolla, he continued welding.

He was rarely seen without his wife.  They enjoyed fishing and watching movies together.

He also collected stamps and coins, and was a member of the NRA.

Survivors include daughter, Sherry Hanna and husband Mark, Edmond, Okla.; brothers, Glen McCurry, Colorado and Jesse McCurry, Oregon; sister, Sandra Smith, Liberal; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Archie McCurry and Dale McCurry.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Faith Tabernacle Church in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to The Kempe Foundation for abused children in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S Main, Hugoton, KS  67951.
