The Kismet Public Library Foundation will host its annual benefit dinner on Friday, March 28. The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kismet Pavilion on Main Street in Kismet.
A free will donation will be taken. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the building fund established for a new public library building in Kismet.
The menu for the dinner includes the following: Pancakes, sausage, fruit and drinks. Carry-out meals will be available.
Entertainment for the evening will feature drawings for books for children, teens and adults. A drawing for a Kindle Fire will also be conducted at the event. Purchasers of donation tickets for the Kindle Fire do not need to be present to win.
Donation tickets for the Kindle Fire may be purchased from any of the members of the Kismet Public Library Foundation Board or the Kismet Public Library Board of Trustees.
Donation tickets may also be purchased at the Kismet Public Library. The suggested donation is $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets. Proceeds generated by donation ticket sales will be deposited into the library’s building fund. For more information, call the library at 563-7357.
The mission of the Kismet Public Library Foundation is to promote, enhance, and/or support the services, programs and activities of Kismet Public Library, a district library serving the residents of Kismet and the surrounding rural areas of Seward County included within the boundaries of USD No. 483.
The Foundation, governed by a volunteer board of community leaders, is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping ensure the future of the Kismet Public Library by raising funds for a new library building and ongoing support of the Library’s collections and programs to benefit the residents of Kismet and the surrounding rural area.
Tax-deductible donations may be sent to Kismet Public Library Foundation, P. O. Box 66, Kismet, KS 67859. An application for 501(c)3 status by the Foundation is pending.
