Seward has locked in a third place finish in the Jayhawk West after losing to Garden City, 85-82 Wednesday.

The Saints(21-8, 10-5) cannot catch second-place Hutchinson (25-4, 12-3) even if they upset first-place Butler (25-4, 13-2) Saturday night at the Green House.

Fourth place Dodge City (19-10, 7-8) cannot pass the Saints, either.

Seward will host Kansas City, Kan., in the first round of the Region 6 tournament.

The Saints fell to Garden City in a tight game throughout the contest.

Latiq Agard led the Saints with 19 points, Marcus James scored 15, Marky Nolen scored 14, and Robert Sigala had 13.

The Saints shot 42 percent in the loss. In the three-point game, Seward hit three of seven attempts in the first half but missed all seven in the second half.

The Broncbusters didn’t fare much better, hitting five of 28 three-point attempts in the game.

Seward will host Butler at the Green House Saturday to finish the regular season.
