A preliminary hearing in the case involving a former South Middle School teacher and athletic coach arrested on three counts of indecent liberties with a child has been rescheduled.

The hearing for Jason Brown was set for Wednesday morning in Seward County District Court, but court officials said the case has now been rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 24.

Brown was arrested following his resignation on Jan. 14. That came following two alleged incidents of “lewd and fondling or touching of a child” less than 14 years old in October and November of 2009 and another alleged incident in December with the same child, who had turned 14 by that time.

Brown was released from the Seward County jail Feb. 8 on a $50,000 bond.
