The Meade Lady Buffaloes built a big halftime lead, and then held on in the second half for a 50-41 win.

Meade jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first quarter of play, then added to their lead with a 16-9 advantage in the second quarter to go up by 18 at half (32-14).

Heights mounted a rally in the third, outscoring the Lady Buffaloes 17-8 to cut the lead back to single digits (40-31) heading into the fourth quarter.

Meade was able to end the Lady Mustangs rally in the fourth for an 11-point victory.

Jaylin Stapleton led all Lady Buffalo scorers with 14 points; Natalie Thompson added 8, Bailey Olvera 7, and Lexus Lutters 7.

Heights top scorers were Nayelly LaPoint with 14, and Jackie Loya hit three treys and scored 13 points.

Meade (10-4) will travel to Stanton County Friday night. Heights (9-9) will be at Elkhart Friday.
