Dorothy L. Sargent, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at her home in Liberal.
She was born Dec. 9, 1927, to Marshall and Myrtle (Swisher) Portlock in Johnson.
She married Robert “Bob” Sargent Oct. 14, 1969, in Miami, Okla. He died Nov. 21, 2004.
She was a graduate of Syracuse High School.
She was a cook at the Uptown Cafe and Court in Syracuse.
She enjoyed bowling and her grandkids.
Her survivors include four sons, Terry Blair, Liberal, Butch Blair and wife, Andi, Irvine, Calif., Jack Blair and wife, Kathy, Hays, and Doug Blair and wife, Debbie, Elkhart; three daughters, Sandy Kilgore, Derby, Marsha Younger and husband, Mike, Derby, and Pam Clark and husband, J.D., Hartley, Texas; one sister, Delores Lindsey, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Chris Sargent, one stepdaughter, Caren Hantz, three brothers, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
• Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Joe Gould presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to SCCC/ATS women’s softball and women’s volleyball in care of the mortuary.
