The Liberal Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Tuesday for a new thrift store in town.
The Classy Rack at 218 S. Kansas in Liberal is a community thrift store, with proceeds going back into the community in the form of programs designed to help in areas such as weight loss, managing finances, avoiding depression and taking care of health.
Managers Russ and Peggy Lloyd said the store, which is now opened, has scheduled its first program, “Full Plate Living,” to begin Jan. 19. Sign up right away to reserve a spot.
The Classy Rack is also looking for donations from the community to sell. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to receive donations.
Volunteers are also needed to sort and price donated items. For those wishing to volunteer, call Peggy Lloyd at 624-2775, stop by the store, or e-mail
The store also needs a color printer/copier, a projector, a microwave, chairs for the classroom and plastic clothes hangers.
