Liberal wrestler Zach Ward receives a Character Award from Ulysses cheerleader Catherine Jacobsen Friday night during halftime of the girls baskeball game between Liberal and Ulysses. Earlier this season, Ward allowed himself to be pinned by Ulysses wrestler Boomer Seabolt who is a special needs student. The Ulysses cheerleaders and their sponsor wanted to recognize Ward for his sportsmanship, and they replaced the names on a wrestling bracket with positive words of character and encouragement. After the presentation, Ward received a standing ovation from the crowd. L&T photo/Earl Watt
