Lupe Andrada, Sr., 66, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover.
He was born June 28, 1947, the son of Juan and Refugia (Anugia) Andrada, in Brownsville, Texas.
He married Manuela Ortega on Nov. 26, 1966, in Garden City. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2009.
He was a resident of Liberal since 1974.
He worked for National Beef Packing Company in the hide department, and he retired after 32 years of employment.
Survivors include one son, Lupe Andrada, Jr., Liberal; three daughters, Linda Andrada, Liberal, Rosa Byrd, Guymon, Okla., Sandra Galindo, Midland, Texas; two brothers, Juan Andrada, Jr., Hooker, Okla., Samuel Andrada, Austin, Texas; eight sisters, Antonia Rodriguez, Amarillo, Texas, Martha Rincones, Garden City, Rosie Rodriguez, Liberal, Rebecca Andrada, Garden City, Betty Andrada,Garden City, Alberta Andrada, Fort Worth, Texas, Melda Montanez, Garden City, Anita Mata, Amarillo, Texas; father, Juan Andrada, Garden City; and 10 grandchildren and two great–grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Alfred Andrada.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 204 N. Sherman, Liberal, with Pastor Jose Del Carmen, presiding.
Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 am to 4 p.m. Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church.
