The Seward County Lady Saints will go to the 2013 holiday break with an unblemished 11-0 record and a shiny No. 7 next to their name as the NJCAA released their final rankings for the 2013-2014 first half on Wednesday.

Seward remains at No. 7 in the poll for the third straight week as they finished off the semester 11-0 after a pair of wins in the Pizza Hut Classic two weeks ago.  The Lady Saints are one of just three unbeaten teams remaining in NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball,  joined by No. 2 Walters State, No. 3 Hutchinson, and No. 4 Gulf Coast.  Defending National Champion Trinity Valley remains the No. 1 team in the land with a 12-1 record, the only team to beat them this season, Chipola, gets the nod at No. 5.  In at No. 6 in front of the Lady Saints is Southern Idaho and rounding out the top 10 is Butler at No. 8, Shelton State at No. 9, and Central Arizona at No. 10.

The Lady Saints will have the next nine days off before returning to action on December 27th in San Diego where they will participate in the MiraCosta Holiday Festival.  Seward opens the tournament on the 27th against the home team MiraCosta and will see either Eastern Arizona or Merritt in the second round of the tournament.  The other side of the tournament bracket features Arizona Western, Saddleback, Eastern Utah, and Barstow.
