Mustangs pull out 59-53 win over Hooker PDF Print E-mail

The Southwestern Heights Mustangs grabbed a lead in the first half, matched Hooker point-for-point in the second half, and got themselves a 59-53 win over the Bulldogs in the process Friday afternoon in the second round of the Blue and Red Classic in Hugoton.

Heights held a six point lead at half with the score 27-21. Both teams went on to score 16 points in the third quarter, and 16 a piece again in the fourth as the Mustangs got the win.

Nate Johnsrud scored a game-high 28 points for Heights, and Jorge Dela Torre added 12.

Dakotah McBride and Taylor McBee both had 13 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Hooker played Guymon at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, and Heights played the Gruver Greyhounds at 6:15 p.m Saturday in Hugoton.
