Clifford W. “Cliff” Lewis, 92, of Turpin, OK, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center, in Liberal.

He was born Aug. 25, 1921, to James M. and Jessie E. (Cone) Lewis, in Tyrone, Okla.

He married Berniece Scott July 26, 1941, in Guymon, Okla. She died June 10, 1994.

He then married Nilene Cunnigham May 19, 2001, in Satanta. She survives.

He graduated from Eureka High School in Baker, Okla., in 1940.

He served in the United States Army from January 1945 to August 1946. He employed by Texas Company, as a 1st class lab tester, in Amarillo. He was a farmer, then a field representative for Groendyke Transport Inc. and Total Petroleum.

He was a member of Turpin United Methodist Church, Kansas American Legion, and served on the OETA Board.

Other survivors include two sons, James Lewis and wife, Caryl, Wichita, and Gary Lewis and wife, Claretta, Borger, Texas; one daughter, Bonnie Loveless and husband, Rick, Sterling; six stepchildren; two sisters, Freda Sutton, Enid, Okla., and Helen Parnell, Wenatchee, Wash.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Turpin United Methodist Church, with Pastors Todd Bergman and Stan Lehnert, presiding.

Burial will be at Liberal  Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post No. 80.

Friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Turpin United Methodist Church or OETA, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second Street, Liberal, KS 67901.
