Forgan’s Jace Kerr signed Wednesday to play basketball at the University of Central Oklahoma during the early signing period.

Kerr decided to sign early so that he could focus on the upcoming season, as the Bulldogs look to make a run at another state title.

“I really like the coach, Terry Evans,” Jace Kerr said. “His coaching style resembles my dad. I signed early so I could get it out of the way and focus on this basketball season. I thought that was the most important thing right now; us trying to make a run at winning another one (state title).”

Jace Kerr is the fourth Bulldog in three years to earn a NCAA Division 2 basketball scholarship under Forgan head coach Todd Kerr, but has the added touch of being the coach’s son as well.

“What you see is a product of the commitment and success that our program has had,” Todd Kerr said. “ It’s extra special for me, there’s no doubt about that. It’s been a dream of his to play college ball for a long time. To be able to be comfortable where he’s going and know it’s done makes me awful proud and happy.”
