MEADE – Pauline G. Phillips, 103, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Meade District Hospital.
She was born June 27, 1910, to William Thomas and Delores (Suarez) Robinson in Mokelumne Hill, Calif.
She married William Rickers in October 1927. He died in 1949.
She then married Paul Phillips April 2, 1954. He preceded her in death.
She attended school in Stockton, Calif.
She worked as a waitress and telephone operator.
She was a member of the Untied Methodist Church.
She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as a past worthy matron; a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge, serving as a past noble grand; the Alpha Social and Study Club; and the Slimmer Trimmer Club.
She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and farming.
She is survived by a son, Harold Rickers, Plains; a daughter, Carol Lockhart, Bryan, Texas; a sister, Lorraine O’Rourke, Oakland, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Dean Rickers; a brother, Harold Robinson; a sister, Evelyn Chapman; a grandson, William “Bill” Rickers; and a great-grandson, Eric Rickers.
• Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Meade.
Cremation has taken place. Private family burial will take place at the Plains Cemetery at a later date.
