COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Joan Pauline Bourell, 83, died Sept. 18, 2013 at Namaste Alzheimer’s Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born Dec. 12, 1929, to Joseph and Iva Pauline (Broadfoot) Wolf in Macksville.
She married Kenneth Lowell Bourell Feb. 4, 1949, in Hutchinson. He died April 26, 2000.
She went to school in St. John and Hutchinson.
She worked with family at Bourell’s Carpet and Drapery in Hutchinson for many years as both the designer and the seamstress. She had also been a cook for Prosperity Grade School.
She was a longtime member of the Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson.
Survivors include his son, Tim Bourell, Liberal; daughter, Lorilei Bourell, Colorado Springs; six grandchildren, Christine Owens, Luke Wedel, Zach Bourell, Gretchen Stebbins, Katie Kline and Peter Lydon; 11 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Rod Wedel, Athens, Texas.
She was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Wedel, and his daughter-in-law, Shirley Bourell.
o Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park in Hutchinson with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding.
Viewing will be 12:30 – 1 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery.
