HUGOTON – Emmett A. Reardon, 104, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1908, to George E. and Clara (Lauterbach) Reardon on the family farm in Texas County, Okla.
He married Harriet McAtee Dec. 10, 1942.
He graduated from Moscow High School.
He served in the 20th Army Air Force, 315th Bomb Wing, WWII for four years after being drafted in 1942, including a six month tour of duty on the island of Guam at Northwest Field. He was finance officer.
Following that, he was employed at the Citizens State Bank, retiring in 1974 as vice president and cashier.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and VFW Post 5391 of Hugoton.
Survivors include one son, Harold Reardon and wife, Cindy, Tyrone, Okla.; two daughters, Charlotte Thomas and husband, Frankie, Hugoton, and Kathleen Furr and husband, Frank, Hugoton; one sister, Clara Highland, Wichita; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton, with the Rev. Tim McCrary presiding.
Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery.
