Betty J. Herndon, 78, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1934, to Orvel and Maggie (Parlie) Dixon in Davis, Okla.

She married Kenneth F. Herndon June 24, 1950, in Perryton, Texas. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by sister, Sandy Chronister, Davis; granddaughter, Cynthia Harris, Haysville; son-in-law, Phillip Eade, Liberal; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Evans, Derby.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth F. Herndon, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Herndon; one brother; three sisters; and grandson, Joseph F. Herndon.
