While practicing for the Liberal High School golf team, George Fitzgerald scored a hole in one at Willow Tree Golf Course earlier this week, the first in 2013.

Fitzgerald used an approach wedge on Hole No. 5, and sent the ball 98 yards from the tee box to the green and into the hole.

Hole No. 5 is the most common hole to ace at the course, and Fitzgeralds shot was the first since Rod Stout aced Hole No. 7 in December, a 155 yard shot.

Both holes are Par 3.

Willow Tree is open each day at 8 a.m., and the 18-hole public course offers carts, a driving range and a practice green along with a practice bunker.
