COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Betty Jean Cobb, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born Feb. 29, 1933, to Arthur and Jewel (Pennington) Hendrick in Stigler, Okla.
She married Lawrence Cobb Dec. 24, 1954, in Wichita. He died Oct. 10, 1974.
She graduated from Turpin High School and attended Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1955 with a degree in nursing.
She was employed for over 30 years at Southwest Medical Center as a registered nurse.
She was a longtime member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberal before becoming a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs.
Survivors include one son, Mark Cobb, Simi Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Cynthia Godfrey, Oak Grove, Mo., and Joy Mitchell, Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Jessica Hay, Jeremy Olsen, Vanessa Mitchell and Lindsey Mitchell; and three great- grandchildren, Gemma Hay, Baylie Coker and Jasmine Washington.
She was also preceded in death by parents and one sister, Arta Mae Fowler.
o Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Wehling presiding.
Cremation has taken place.
Private burial will be at a later date in Restlawn Cemetery.
