Cecil S. Ivie, 91, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at his home northwest of Guymon.
He was born Feb. 17, 1921, to Sylvester Newton “S.N.” and Minnie Elizabeth (Pfeifer) Ivie in the Eva community.
He married Mildred Johnson Oct. 21, 1951, in Boise City, Okla. She survives.
He farmed all his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was inducted Sept. 4, 1942, at Fort Sill, Okla. He received his basic training at Fort Bragg, N.C. He served overseas in North Africa and Italy with Headquarters Detachment, 22nd replacement battalion for 34 months.
He attended Morning Star United Methodist Church in Hough, Okla.
Other survivors include four children, Arletta June Ivie, Dalhart, Texas, Gary Lynn Ivie, Guymon, Lorraine Gale Ivie Morgan and husband, Nathan, Newton, and Paul Warren Ivie, Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Briana Kathleen Kilpatrick Renich and husband, Dan, Park City, Craig Randall Kilpatrick and wife, Jennifer, Bartlesville, Okla., Carl Alan Kilpartick, USMC, San Diego, Rachelle Ivie Morgan Norman and husband, Nicholas, Kansas City, Mo., Joseph Sanders Morgan and wife, Dyan, Lawrence, Wesley Johnson Morgan and wife, Angela, Memphis, Tenn., and Davis Ditto Morgan, Lawrence; and one great- granddaughter, Alice Ella Norman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harvey Earl Ivie, half brothers, Audah Ray Ivie and Carlous Eugene Ivie, and half sisters, Mable Maurine Ivie and Meary Hildred Ivie Hutcherson.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Morning Star United Methodist Church in Hough, with Rev. Jacki Banks presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hooker Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, 122 NE Seventh, Guymon.
