LIBERAL — The West Middle School seventh graders edged out Garden City Abe Hubert 30-26 Monday evening at South Middle School to advance to the championship of the Arkansas River Middle School League boys basketball tournament tonight. The Warriors will take on Dodge City for the championship at 7:30 p.m. tonight at South Middle School.
Jared Hasik led West with 13 points in the win.
Dodge City advanced to the championship with a 51-20 win over Garden City Kenneth Henderson on Monday night.
The West 7th grade B team will play for third place today at 4:00. The Warriors fell to Abe Hubert 16-8 and will battle Dodge City for third at South Middle School.
• In the 8th grade tournament, South will play for third place today at 4:00 after falling to Kenneth Henderson, 34-26. The Apaches will play Dodge City for third place at Cottonwood Intermediate School.
