TYRONE — There are no bad wins. Sometimes they aren't as pretty as we would like them to be, but we'll take them, especially when it's homecoming.

The Lady Bobcats weren't perfect, but picked up a 46-30 homecoming win over the Yarbrough Lady Lobos Friday night.

"I felt like our intensity was not there," said Lady Bobcat coach Tisha Loomis.  "We didn't hustle enough. I was pleased with the outcome, but as far as how we played, I was not."

The Lady Bobcats did have a couple of stretches where they played much better than their opponent. Katy Lotspeich made her first of three from beyond the arc to break a 2-2 tie and start the Lady Bobcats on a 9-0 run to end the first period.

Yarbrough was able to play with Tyrone in the second and trailed 18-8 at the half, and were able to cut the lead to 8 with 5:25 left in the third.

Both teams struggled from the free throw line, combining to make only 5-of-21.

But Tyrone picked up the intensity, and forced turnovers with their full court press, and held Yarbrough scoreless for the next 8 minutes.

"We were playing behind (them in our press) too much," said Loomis. "We decided to start playing in the second half."

The Lady Bobcats scored 16 during that 8 minute stretch to increase their lead to 38-14, and put the game out of reach winning 46-30.

Katy Lotspeich lead the Lady Bobcats in scoring with 15 points, including three treys. Adrienne Sanborn added 9 points, and Shayla Cornelson 8.
