R.E. Griffith, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at his home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1927, to Ronald and Berniece Robinson Griffith in Gray, Okla.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1949.  He worked in many capacities including railroad, oil field related, farming and R.E. Griffith Trucking.

He is survived by his son, Jim Eden and wife, Linda of Colorado; his stepson, Jerry Griffith and wife, Shirley, Liberal;  his daughter, Carolyn Mull and husband, Jim of Florida; three grandchildren, Rhonda Wilson of Florida, Richard Hutches of Florida and Staci Farrar, Topeka; and his step-grandson, Bryan Griffith, Liberal; 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Clarice Eden.
