A collision involving three trucks Monday afternoon seven miles north of Liberal blocked U.S. Highway 83 and caused traffic to be detoured for hours. One man, Don A. Jenning, 42, Satanta, suffered injuries in the mayhem and was transported to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
Around 2 p.m. Monday, Jenning was southbound driving a 1997 Kenworth when he collided with the trailer behind a northbound 2009 Mack truck driven by Jason Manning of Fairview, Okla., according to the report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Jenning then hit another northbound truck, a 2008 Mack driven by Adam Buchanan, also of Fairview.
All three vehicles came to rest on U.S. Hwy. 83 and created traffic problems into the night.
