BETTY R. EASTEPP

ELKHART – Betty Ruth (Williamson) Eastepp died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at her home in Lamar, Colo.

She was born May 22, 1926, to Rollie Ray and Mozelle Williamson in Manter.

She married Douglas Eastepp Aug. 12, 1943.  He preceded her in death. He served in the Navy and they moved to San Diego, and she helped the war effort when she worked in a defense plant. Besides working as a homemaker, Betty sold Avon for many years.  She also worked in the Rolla Credit Union and Plains Credit Union. The couple later worked and operated Doug’s Motel and a greenhouse until they retired.

She was a charter member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Rolla and a lifetime member of the Morton County Historical Society.

She enjoyed music and entertaining family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Douglas Dean Eastepp, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Etta Faye and husband, Gary Harbert, Lamar; two sisters, Faye Nugent, Quitman, Arkansas, and Francis Richardson, Elkhart; four grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Velda Williamson, Guymon, Okla.;  and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Gerald, Charles and Bob Williamson, and one sister, Helen Barnes.

o Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rolla with Pastor Henry McGuire presiding.

Burial will follow at the Rolla Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Memorials are suggested to the Lamar Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS  67950.
