AMARILLO, Texas – Alvin Madden, 55, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, after a battle with cancer.
He was born July 17, 1955, to William and Bernestine in Dumas, Ark.
He was married to Annette Cox and later divorced.
He then married Sadie Livingston, and they later divorced.
He was a car salesman for Foss Motor for several years in Liberal. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a car salesman at John Chandler Ford in Amarillo.
He was a member of the West Dumas Church of God in Christ in Dumas. He was also a member of the Bibleway Church of God in Christ, where he served as deacon and on the trustee board.
He is survived by three sons, Shad Madden, Atlanta, Almon Madden, Milwaukee, and William (Willie) Madden, Liberal; one daughter, Casey Madden, Pine Bluff, Ark; one stepson, Lamar Chapman, Kansas City; four brothers, William (Jeanette) Madden, Dumas, Fred Madden, Memphis, Tenn., James Madden, Milwaukee, and Ronald (Aletha) Madden, Liberal; five sisters, Willie (Al) Allen and Bernice (Vic) McLaurin, both of Milwaukee, Joann (Leo) Madison, Ida (Willie) Griggs and Patricia (Houston) Miller, all of Dumas; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Madden; and one sister, Betty Tatum.
o Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the West Dumas Church of God in Christ.
