A Plains youth was taken to Southwest Medical Center Monday following a morning accident in eastern Seward County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when a 1995 GMC Sierra pick up truck driven by Billy Bryant Walston, 16, was westbound on U.S.
Highway 54 just west of the county line dividing Seward and Meade counties.
At that same time, a 1999 Peterbilt tractor trailer was eastbound on U.S.-54, according to the report. The GMC crossed the center line and struck the Peterbilt along the driver’s side.
Walston, of Plains, was ejected and transported with injuries to SWMC, while Daniel B. Earliwine, 45, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, the driver of the semi, did not complain of any injuries.
