ETHEL L. LOCK
ULYSSES – Ethel L. Lock, 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Feb. 5, 1920, to William and Pauline (Lebsack) Brack in Barton County.
She married Fred Lock Sept. 4, 1938, in Great Bend. He survives.
She attended District 81, Haig School and graduated from Otis High School.
She was a homemaker and a cook.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.
She was a life member of American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star of Ulysses, past mother advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls of Ulysses and a Girl Scout leader.
She enjoyed researching her family ancestry and particularly enjoyed helping others find family members.
Other survivors include one son, Ross Lock, Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Wheeler and husband, Dennis, Arkansas City, Connie Flohr and husband, J.R., Ulysses; five grandsons; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Vernon Orval Brack and Willis Lee Brack.
o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Wayne Flanders presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with burial rites conducted by Eastern Star No. 471.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
