A Liberal woman was injured Saturday when her 1999 Dodge passenger car collided with the trailer of a semi north of Liberal on U.S.

Highway 83.

Alisha Kay Starkey, 20, was headed southbound around 3:30 Saturday afternoon at Mile Post No. 17 on Hwy. 83, when, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, “… she went left of center while going around a curve and struck (the northbound semi) in the trailer unit.”

Starkey was transported to Southwest Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The 2000 Peterbilt tractor–trailer rig was driven by 38-year-old Janet S. Haskell of Garden City, who was not injured in the mishap, according to the KHP report.

Both women were using seat restraints at the time of the accident, the KHP added.
