JOHN R. KOEHN
MONTEZUMA – John R. Koehn, 89, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Bethel Home Inc., in Montezuma where he was a resident.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, to Ruben and Helena (Schmidt) Koehn in Montezuma.
He married Lillian Unruh May 19, 1946 in Montezuma. She survives.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
He loved his family and enjoyed being with them.
Other survivors include four sons, John Mark Koehn and wife, Delores, Montezuma, Tony Koehn and wife, Marsha, Montezuma, Ross Koehn and wife, Sherry, Montezuma, and Reed Koehn and wife, Terry, Montezuma; one daughter, Phyllis Nightengale and husband, Frank, Fairview, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lorna Lea Koehn; one granddaughter, Brittany Koehn; four brothers, Harry, Otis, Jesse and Ruben Koehn; and four sisters, May Curtis, Effie Koehn, Lizzie Jantz and Susie Ayers.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Montezuma Mennonite Church with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Kalvin Salsbury and Harold Koehn presiding.
Burial will follow at the North Mennonite Church Cemetery in Montezuma.
