LLOYD W. MARTIN
ULYSSES – Lloyd W. Martin, 86, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas.
He was born Dec. 2, 1922, to William H. and Mary T. (Sampley) Martin in Handley, Texas.
He married Lee Ila Carriker March 3, 1951, in Mineral Wells, Texas. She died Oct. 19, 1984.
He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was an engineer for Columbian Chemicals of Ulysses.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ulysses.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Martin and wife, Terry, Castle Rock, Colo., Lawrence Martin and wife, Jennie, Grapevine, Texas, and Douglas Martin and wife, Lisa, Arlington; one sister, Fay Kligman, El Paso, Texas; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lee Thomason and James Martin, and one sister, Mary Goad.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Ulysses with Minister Warren Baldwin presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Grant County Funeral Home.
