Exploring the Solar System Exhibit PDF Print E-mail

America’s planetary program has successfully sent unpiloted spacecraft around the Moon, to all of the terrestrial planets (the four nearest the Sun) and to the first two outer planets (or gas giants) – Jupiter and Saturn – as well as their satellites. This data gathered remotely by spacecraft will allow scientists to study the nature and history of the solar system, thereby gaining a better understanding of our home planet and its environs. The exhibit includes eight self-standing panels with dramatic planetary photographs, descriptive text, and captions that give a summary of NASA’s planetary exploration program.
