Jack D. Shultz

Jack D. Shultz, 81, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

He was born Jan. 25, 1928, to Samuel and Delta (Johnson) Shultz. 

He married Clevola Jean Rhoads  Dec. 31, 1948, at Clayton, N.M.  She survives. 

He attended school in Elkhart. 

He was the owner/operator of Safety Lane Service for 36 years.  He seved as past Morton County Commissioner and also served as chairman of the Democratic Committee. 

He was a member of the Baptist Church. 

He is also survived by two sons, Jim Shultz, Mike Shultz and wife, Stacey, Elkhart; two daughters, Janice Rodriguez and husband, Mike, Elkhart; Dee Lusk and husband,Forrest, Elkhart; one sister, Anna Gene Britt, Elkhart; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Harriet Shiltuz; one sister, Gladys Stroud; one brother, Donal Cozby. 

o Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wesdnesday at Elkhart Cemetery, with Reverend Gary Murrell presiding.

Memorials are suggested to the Whistle Stop Park in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
